Note: Myron's father was Sanford Withey and his mother was Mary Ann Stull. Sanford's parents were Elias and Anna Kilborn Withey. Mary Ann's parents were Samuel and Mary P. Stull. Mary Ann Stull's brother, Henry Stull, married Mary Stratton, a daughter of David Stratton. 1895 - May 10 - Friday - "The Blossburg Advertiser": One of the earliest settlers in the township of Union, was Elias Withey, a native of Vermont, and his wife, Anna Kilborn, of Connecticut ancestry, who settled in Union April 3rd, 1837, fifty-eight years ago. Union was a wilderness then, not a half-dozen families within its present boundaries. He purchased a tract of one hundred acres located on the hillside nearly opposite the Alfred Jackson farm, and began falling timber and letting in the sun. It was a hard struggle but he and his good wife succeeded in making themselves and children a home. They were Sally, who married Henry Matthews, of Bloomingrove; SANDFORD, of Union; Alonzo of Morris; Eloise, who married Joseph Winder, of Loyalsock; Deborah Ann, who married Simon Hufford, of Wyoming and they had a daughter, Kathryn E., who was born in Pittston and married a Boyce; Hiram, who died in a rebel prison pen; Caroline, who married George Wood of Williamsport; Electa, who married Jackson Hunter, of Lycoming. Sandford has continued to reside in Union for the past 58 years and has witnessed the change that has been made in that township from a wilderness to one of pleasant homes and productive farms. 1900 - March 16 - Matilda Bunn Withey died 1900 - June 15 - census - Union Twp.: Myron Withey, b. PA 1902 - Jan. 21 - Tuesday - Notice in the "Canton Sentinel"; married at the Baptist parsonage in LeRoy, Jan. 15, 1902, by Rev. L. L. Grover, Myron Withey of Union and Miss Rosetta Crayton of West Franklin. 1910 - census - Union Twp.: Myron Withey Rosetta, wife, age 41 Ida E., dau., age 15 1920 - Jan. 16/19 - census - Union Twp.: Miron Withey, age 62, own farm, b. PA, dad b. NY, mom b. PA Rosetta, wife, age 51, b. PA, dad b. NY, mom b. PA 1925 - March 26 - Thurs. - Obituary - Mrs. Rosetta Withey, wife of Myron Withey, died Sunday evening at her home in Ogdensburg at the age of 56. Death was caused by diabetes. The funeral was held on Wednesday afternoon from the Ogdensburg Church and interment was made in the adjoining cemetery. 1930 - April 9/10/11 - census - Milo Town, Yates Co., NY: Myron Withey, father-in-law, widowed, age 72, he and parents b. PA *living in home of his daughter, Ida Withey (Glen B.) Fisher* 1934 - April 6 - "Penn Yan Democrat" - death notice of Myron Withey (Yates Co., NY): In Geneva Hospital, Wednesday, March 28, Myron Withey, 76, of Himrod. He was born in Tioga County, Pa., where he lived all his life until he came to Himrod about 8 years ago. He leaves two daughters, Mrs. Mary Brown, of Flint, Mich., and Mrs. Glen Fisher, of Himrod, and seven grandchildren. A short prayer was held at the home of Glen Fisher on Sunday, with burial in Tioga, Pa. *He was buried in Church of Christ Cemetery, Ogdensburg* Myron had a sister, Ann Eliza, who married Andrew McNett. She was buried in Rutty Cem. as were their children - Blanche; Blye; Edna; Cora Ethel English, wife of Harry W. English.. Their other child was Jennie May who married Burk E. Thomas and she was buried in North Union Cemetery, Union Twp., Tioga County. Myron had one brother, Samuel Withey, who died 18 Feb 1930 and Samuel's wife died 1 Jun 1925 in Canton at age 66. In the 1910 Canton Twp. census, Samuel was age 54 with wife Lucy, age 50 and a son Charles S, age 34, with his wife Eva, age 31. Samuel and Lucy were buried in Beech Flats Cem. Myron's other brother was Theodore of Avis, PA. Theodore was listed in the 1910 Canton Twp. census as being born Dec., 1856 and his wife, Antoinette, being born Jan. 1855. Theodore and wife were living in Canton when the wife died Oct. 1, 1902 and was buried at Ogdensburg. Myron's sisters were Ida Ogden of Blossburg, and Mrs. Frank Austin of Ogdensburg. NOTE: There was a William Withey listed in the 1830 census for Canton Twp. There was an obituary in the "Star-Gazette", Elmira, week of March 20, 1932, for Mrs. Charles Withey, a former resident of Canton died at the home of her cousin, Robert DeVinne of 818 Jay St., Elmira. She is survived by husband and two sisters; Mrs. Gene Hunter and Mrs. Fred Webb, both of Rochester.
