1894 - March 9 - Friday - "The Blossburg Advertiser": In Memorian; Died in Arnot, early Wednesday morning, March 7, 1894, J. Howard Stratton, only son of Robert and Bertha Stratton. Thus has closed on earth the life of one whom we dearly loved. Little Howard for a long time attended the meetings of the L. T. L. of Arnot and a few weeks back presented his name for membership, thus becoming to all instance and purposes one of our member. Our hearts are sorely grieved at his loss. About four years ago, his beautiful young mother entered into rest, and little Howard growing weary, too, of life has joined her in a brighter world than this, while we, his saddened friends would testify their love of him in this tribute to his memory. Whereas it has pleased our Heavenly Father to call our little brother J. Howard Stratton from earth to life in Heaven. That we sadly miss his presence in our midst, that we realize that our loss is His great gain: We have lost a friend and brother Heaven has gained another pure, bright soul.
Resolved, that we greatly rejoice to claim Howard as a member of our L. T. L. and believe that the work to which he gave his aid will be stronger and better for his membership.
Resolved, that we the members of the L. T. L., of Arnot, tenderly sympathize with the afflicted family of our absent brother, and we pray that while they miss from the home circle the beautiful little boy that gladdened it, this peace of God, which passeth all understanding may be graciously granted to them.
