Note: Matthew was born September 13, 1869, Gleason, Union Township, Tioga County, PA and died in an auto accident on the Ogdensburg to Roaring Branch road, November 9, 1923. His parents were Patrick King and Bridget Dwyer. Matthew listed his address as Renova, Clinton County, PA, when he enlisted in the service. He was with Co M 1st US Vol as 1st Class Private and served overseas from August 1898 to November 1898, Puerto Rico. He was discharged January 25, 1899, New York City. When he and Bevie were married, he was a ranchman in Burns, OR.

1923 - Nov. 15 - Thurs. - "The Canton Sentinel:
Matthiss King, a resident of Ogdensburg, was killed between six and seven o'clock Friday evening, when his automobile ran off the bank near Roaring Branch. He was 50 years old and is survived by his wife and three children. The funeral was held Monday morning in St. Michael's Church in Canton and interment was made in the parish cemetery on Lycoming St.
