Note: Lillian and Charles were divorced. She died at the Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, Bradford County, PA, from lung carcinoma that she had suffered from for three years. She was buried in the Ogdensburg Cemetery. Her obituary stated she was survived by a niece, Susan Giese of Pottstown, PA. Nallin. Wellsboro Gazette - Thursday - February 19, 1948: Announcement is made of the marriage of Lillian Thomas Watkins, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Thomas of Canton and Charles B. Ward, son of Mrs. Christina B. Ward and the late Joseph P. Ward of Blossburg. The ceremony was performed by Rev. J. J. Nallin on Saturday, February 7th at 9:30 a. m. at St. Andrew's Church, in Blossburg. Attending the couple were Miss Marforie P. Ward of New York City, sister of the bridegroom and Herbert Smouther, nephew of the bride. The bride is a graduate of the Canton schools. The bridegroom attended Dickinson Preparatory School and Penn State College. He is president of the J. P. Ward Foundries, Inc. After a trip through the southern states, the couple will reside in Blossburg.
