a. Note:   1944 - Aug. 7 - marriage of Ethyl Bennett and Sgt. George W. Skea, USMC, son of Mary Skea of DuBoistown. Ethyl was operating a beauty shop in Blossburg.
  1977 - Jan. 5 - Wellsboro Gazette:
 George W. Skea, 68, of 167 Bennett Lane, Blossburg, died Friday, December 31, 1976, in Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro, following a brief illness. Born November 2, 1908, in DuBois, he was the son of Frank and Mary Bell Saunders Skea. Mr. Skea was a retired employe of J. P. Ward Foundries. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War 11. Mr. Skea was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church. Surviving are his wife, the former Ethel Bennett, and two sisters, Mrs. Laura Greenway, of Vineland, N.J., and Mrs. Kathryn Franke, of Sacramento, California. A prayer service was held at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Auld Funeral Home, Blossburg, followed by the mass of Christian burial in the church at 9:30 a.m. Burial was in Ogdensburg Cemetery. The Rev. Robert Nealon, his pastor, officiated.
