a. Note:   Margaret sold her 1/2 lot to Catherine Chrisman on May 16, 1867 and then the house part to William Smith on Nov. 4, 1870.
  "Miner's Journal", Pottsville, March 6, 1880: died - Stratten. on the 4 inst., Margaret Stratten, wife of the late William Stratten, aged 84 years and 3 months. Funeral Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the residence of Mrs. Mauger, No. 16 East Minersville Street. Relatives and friends invited.
  Margaret's will, written on March 27, 1877: ( research done by Ralph H. Schwaim) she was to buried in Odd Fellows cemetery per the rites of the Presbyterian Church, her granddaughter Elizabeth Cheney was to get $50 and the rest of the property to be divided among her daughters, son-in-law Cyrus Sheetz to be appointed executor. Mr. Schwaim further stated all her daughters were mentioned except Mary Ann Seitzinger, who maybe was already deceased. Matilda and Annette were both widows at the time.
  In the 1880 census for Pottsville was a Cheney family:
 Alphus Cheney, age 44, b. PA, dad b. MA, mom b. NJ, laborer
 Elizabeth, wife, age 38, she and parents b. PA
 Annie Cheney, daughter, age 15, b. PA
 Charles Cheney, son, age 11, b. PA
