Court, Towanda, PA: John states he is age 43, a fireman living in Powell, son of Harrison and Jane Stratton. His bride, Sophronia Camp, states she is age 42 and living in Powell. She is a daughter of Fred and Sophronia Camp and her 1st husband, Mr. Allen, died Oct. 1908. John Stratton and Sophronia Camp were married at 107 Pratt Ave., Towanda, by Rev. W. Herbert Moore. 1918 - John M. Stratton was living in Powell when his mother died 1922 - May 31 - death of Sophronia Camp Stratton - buried Powell Cemetery, Monroe Twp., Bradford Co., PA 1923 - April 23 - Marriage license #13976, Bradford Co. Court, Towanda, PA: John states he is age 55, a stationary fireman living in Powell, born in Ogdensburg, his 1st wife died May 31, 1922; his dad was Harrison Stratton, born in Tioga Co., PA, deceased; his mom was Jane Johnson, born in -not sure - McKan Twp., state line, Wills or Wells - deceased. His bride, Rose Conklin Grant, was born in Franklindale, Bradford Co., PA, is age 46 and living in Detroit. Her father is Jacob Conklin who was born in Sussex, NJ, and now living in Athens; her mother was Emma Williams who was born in Franklindale and is deceased. Her 1st husband died Feb. 1, 1910 and she divorced her 2nd husband in Detroit on April 11, 1923. John M. Stratton and Rose Conklin Grant were married by Rev. J. D. Herrick. 1930 - April 24 - census - Monroe Twp., Bradford Co., PA: Jacob Compton, own propery, age 76, widowed, he and parents b. NJ Rose Stratton, dau., age 51, married at age 22, b. PA, dad b. NJ, mom b. PA *Conklin should be Compton as 1880 census for Franklin, Bradford Co., has Jacob Compton with wife Emma and daughters Rose and Kate* 1949 - April 26 - death of John M. Stratton - buried Powell Cemetery, Monroe Twp., Bradford Co., PA 1949 - May 5 - Thurs. - Wellsboro Gazette: John M. Stratton, 81, died at the Blossburg State Hospital on April 26, after a 6 weeks illness. A native of Ogdensburg, Mr. Stratton came to Blossburg from Ithaca, to reside with his niece, Mrs. Evan Williams. In addition to his wife, Rose, of Rochester, his niece, Mrs. Williams, survives.
