Blossburg Man Dies Suddenly
Ira Williams, 45, retired Blossburg businessman and a Masonic leader, died suddenly at his Blossburg home on Monday night. He had been in ill health for several years which forced his retirement. However in the past few weeks his health had apparently improved and he had been active. Born in Arnot 45 years ago he was the son of Evan and Eleanor Williams Williams. When a child he came to Blossburg with his parents where he has since made his home. Mr. Williams operated Williams Hotel, now the Blossburg Hotel and the Williams Grill for many years before retiring. He was a past master of Blossburg Lodge, F&A.M. and a member of Williamsport Consistory and the Blossburg Methodist Church. Friendliness was one of his outstanding characteristics. Sympathetic in the time of trouble and kind and thoughtful in the time of stress he has many friends who are mourning his passing. Mr. Williams is survived by his wife, Mrs. Louise Williams; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Evan Williams; two sons, Robert and Joseph, all of Blossburg. The funeral will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the home with the Rev. Wayne Archer, pastor of the Methodist Church officiating. Burial in Arbon Cemetery. Committal services will be in charge of Bloss Lodge F.&A.M.
