Note: Jacob Loper was a Swede from Stockhold "who came out in the ship SWOL in the year 1643 as Commander and Captain Lieutenant." He also was a Commandant at Curacao in 1646. -- June 1649, "at present a burgher here." Jacob Loper was a Member of the Council of New Amsterdam. In 1646 He married Cornelia Melyn, the daughter of Cornelius Melyn. His wife remarried after his death to Jacob Schellinger. This marriage is recorded in the New Amsterdam Dutch Reformed church records and in the Colonial History of New York.
