Notes
a. Note:   Murray related that when he and his brother, Donal, were young single men and done with Sat. night farm chores, they would get cleaned up, grab a couple quarts of hard cider, climb in the Model T, and go around to the square dances. Murray bought a farm from his father, Jackson D., that had originally belonged to Harry Baldwin. Mr. Baldwin had a wooden leg and Murray found it in the attic of the house after he bought the farm. This is how the story got started about the wooden leg running loose at night in his house . It's been passed down to his children , to his grandchildren, and to his great grandchildren. Murray had a good sense of humor and loved practical jokes. He believed in the "old way"; "if you have a roof over your head and food on the table.............". His family didn't have many toys , clothes, and things, but there was fun together and working together on the farm. His daughters, for example, had fun helping with burning brush because they took hot dogs along and cooked them for their noon meal. Murray was living on the old homestead and his brother, Donal, was living on the Baldwin property but in April, 1950, Murray and Donal exchanged properties. Murray retired from farming in 1972 and sold his farm to Lloyd B Spencer . He bought property in Cherry Flats, PA, and moved there. Lloyd Spencer died July14, 1995, and the farm now belongs to Billy Neal. Murray and Audrey's daughters were all born at the Ross Maternity Hospital, Main St., Canton, PA. Murray and Audrey were divorced and Murray never remarried. Audrey had a second family. Murray passed away on Wednesday afternoon at his daughter's home in Minnequa Springs with his daughters present, two granddaughters, Tess and Ronda Sue, and three great granddaughters, Brittney, Kelcey, and Taylor. Tess 's husband, Mickey, was also present. Murray died of cardiac arrest, from complications of a stroke suffered November 18, 1997. Audrey's parents were Raymond Leach and Odessa Borden of Little Marsh, Tioga Co., PA. Odessa died from her clothes catching fire while cooking breakfast on a wood cook stove. Audrey was about three years old at the time . She and her brothers and sister were placed in foster homes; Elsie, Raymond Jr., and Lyle Gerald. Elsie May Kristonvich, Elkland, Tioga Co., PA , died February 5, 1956 from complications of sugar diabetes. Ray in 1995 , and Lyle in 1996, both of them from the same disease as their sister. Her father, Raymond, died from pneumonia with other complications of diabetes. Audrey was born September 3, 1925, Little Marsh?, PA. Audrey's second husband was Charles Guy, married in 1960.
