MO 1931 - Nov. 25 - The Agitator - Wellsboro: Lafayette Neal, of Corning, pleaded guilty to violating the liquor laws, before court last Tuesday and was fined $500 and costs and committed to jail for three months. 1932 - Jan. 27 - Wed. - The Wellsboro Agitator: NEWS OF THE COUNTY COURT Automobile Held as Surety for Payment of Fine in Liquor Case. Lafayette Neal, of Corning, who was arrested in Wellsboro on September 17 for violations of the liquor law and sentenced to a $500 fine and three months' imprisonment in the county jail, was paroled on Monday for one month. Informant was Mrs. Nettie Rekildifer of 58 Griffith St. 1947 - February 4 - Tuesday - The Evening Leader, Corning: Funeral services were held for LaFayette Neal of 58 Griffith street from the Phillips Funeral Home today at 2 p.m. The Rev. Robert Horton, pastor of the Grace Methodist Church officiated. Mr. Neal died Saturday at 7:15 at his home after being in poor health for about six months. He was 85 years old. Born September 14, 1861 in Shinglehouse, Pa, he was the son of Samuel and Mary Neal. He married the former Miss Mary Emma Shaw. A resident of Corning for a number of years, he was a blacksmith, employed at the New York Central shop until his retirement. Surviving with the wife are four daughters, Mrs. Effie Sturgeon of Des Moines, IA., Mrs. Lewis M. Clark of 57 River street, Mrs. Nettie Rickeldifer, Miss Hazel Neal, at home; one son, Everett Neal of South Addison; several grandchildren and one brother, John Neal of Oregon.
