Note: Mary Elizabeth was living with the David Avery family in Humeston, Wayne Co., IA, before her marriage. John was a son of the John Henry who was born in PA about February14, 1808 and married Hannah Bailey in 1829 in Shelby Co., IN. Their other children besides John Robert were William, Jeremiah, Rachel, Sarah, Jane, Eliza who was born c1840, Mary, and Solomon. The family moved from IN to IL, then to Wayne Co., IA. There is a sketch of William Henry in the Wayne Co. Pioneer Biographies. 1880 - census for Richman, Wayne Co., Mary is listed as a 16 year old daughter in David Avery's household.
