Jan. 1882, age 18, single Jennie C., b. may 1886, age 14 Warren F., b. Dec. 1894, age 5 1910 - April 30 - census - Union Twp. - North District: Freeman W. Neal, age 58, married once, married 28 yrs, farm free of mortgage Lydia J., age 47, married once, married 28 yrs., mother of 3 with 3 living Jennie C., age 22, single Warren, age 15 1920 - Jan. 14/15 - census - Union Twp., Tioga Co., PA: Freeman W. Neal, age 64, farmer Lydia, age 57 *next listed was their son, Warren F. Neal* 1928 - April 2 - Freeman sold his 110 acres located in Union Twp. to his son, Warren, for $7000. The 110 acres consisted of 3 parcels; one of 32 1/2 acres, one of 34 acres. These two were purchased from Patrick King on 8 Jul 1895. The third parcel consisted of 44 acres. Freeman and Lydia were living in Canton Boro at the time of the land transaction. 1929 - March 2 - death of Lydia; Her brother, George John Schmelzle, married as his first wife, Mary Jane Neal, a sister to Lydia's husband, Freeman Neal. 1929 - March 14 - Thurs. - Wellsboro Gazette: MRS. LYDIA NEAL DIES AT HOME IN CANTON Roaring Branch Letter Reports Death of Well Known Woman, Saturday Night. Roaring Branch, March 13- Mrs. Lydia Neal, wife of Freeman Neal departed this life on Saturday, at her late home in Canton, at the age of 66 years. She was a daughter of the late Jacob and Mary Schmelzle. Mrs. Neal leaves to mourn her demise her husband: two daughters, Mrs. Albert Krise and Mrs. Charles Huffman, and one son, Warren Neal, of North Union; three brothers, Daniel Schmelzle, of South Union, and Cyrus Schmelzle, of East Point; one sister, Mrs. Dennis Doud, of Canton. The funeral was held last Wednesday afternoon from the home in Canton. Services being held at the North Union church; interment in the North Union Cemetery. 1930 - April 9 - census - Canton Borough - Lycoming St.: Freeman Neal, own property - $3,000, age 70, widowed, no occupation 1946 - Obituary from unknown newspaper: Freeman Willard Neal, 86, of Sullivanville, died Thurs., July 11, 1946. Survived by son Warren of Sullivanville, daughters, Mrs. Albert Krise of Canton, Mrs. Jennie Huffman of Sullivanville; brothers, Murray of Liberty , PA, W. J. of Mansfield, sister, Mrs. Carrie Sheffer of Jersey Shore; seven grandchildren, several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral at home of son, Sunday at 1 p.m. at North Union Church at 3. Burial at North Union. The body is at Horseheads and will be taken to son's home Friday afternoon. Freeman was buried in Union Church Cemetery, Liberty Twp., Tioga County , PA.
