Note: Francis and Edith belonged to the Ebenezer Church, East Point, Liberty Twp., Tioga County, PA, and it is likely they were married there. 1930 - April 2 - census - Liberty - house #7: Francis W. Neal, age 32, married at age 31, retail merchant Edith C., wife, age 29, marriage at age 27, b. PA, dad b. PA, mom b. Germany 1981 - Dec. 30 - Wed. - The Gazette - Wellsboro: Francis W. Neal, age 84, of Liberty, died unexpectedly at his home on Monday, December 28, 1981. He was born in Liberty November 19, 1897, son of Murray and Mary Roupp Neal. For 28 years Mr. Neal owned and operated Neal's Feed Mill in Liberty until his retirement in 1955. He was a member of the Liberty Lutheran Church for 50 years and a member of the Church Council for 20 years. Mr. Neal was a member of the Knights of Pythius of Liberty, the Bloss Lodge number 350 F&AM and the Williamsport Consistory. He was a past member of the Liberty Area School Board. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Edythe Miller Neal, one daughter, Mrs. Donald (Mary Louise) Coleman of Lewisburg; one brother, Russell Neal of Missoula, Montana; two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Watkins of Elmira, N.Y. and Mrs. Edythe Myers of Stratford, Wayne, Pa.; two grandchildren, Karen and Beth Coleman. Funeral and Committal was held today at the Liberty Lutheran Church. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to the American Heart Association North Central Pa Chapter, 153 West Fourth Street, Williamsport.
