Evelyn and Elbert were married by Rev. Philip Wolcott Furst. Groom - Elbert Ward Herrington, tool maker, born in West Burlington, living in Canton, age 48; first wife died Nov. 1, 1937; his dad is John Henry Herrington who was born in Franklin Twp., was a farmer, deceased; his mom is Lucy Shiner? who was born in Franklin Twp. and lives in Elmira. 1962 - Evelyn was living in Canton when her father died. 1972 - Jan. - Obituary - unknown paper but probably Canton Sentinel: Edbert W. Herrington, aged 78, of 75 North Center St., Canton, died at the Troy Community Hospital Tuesday evening, Jan. 18, 1972 at 5:30 o'clock following an extended illness. Mr. Herrington, a tool designer and dye-maker by trade, was retired from Remington Rand at Elmira after 20 years of loyal service. After his retirement, he became plant manager of the Glider City Tool Co. His latest employment was with Capabilities, Inc., for whom he worked until incurring the illness that caused his death. He was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Canton; the Loyal Order of Moose, at Canton; Wheel Inn, Inc., of Roaring Branch and a life member of the Red Run Rod and Gun Club. Surviving are his wife, the former Evelyn Krise; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Sandra) Wrisley of Troy RD1; a son, James E. Herrington, of Hanover, Pa; a sister, Mrs. Mary Johnson of Elmira; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the Ralph T. Kleese Funeral Home, 40 North Center Street, Canton, Thursday afternoon at two o'clock with his pastor, the Rev. C. David Jones, officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. 2001 - Feb. 15 - Thurs. - "The Canton Independent-Sentinel": Evelyn Herrington Ward, 93, a former Canton resident, passed away February 2, 2001 in Merritt Island, FL. Born November 8, 1907, she was the daughter of Albert Krise and Edna Neal. She was a graduate of Canton High School. Surviving are her children, James Herrington and Dr. Sandra Herrington. She was predeceased by her first husband, Ed Herrington, and her second husband, H. Burton Ward. Private funeral and committal services were held in Florida.
