a. Note:   Tom was born and raised on the Groover Century Farm on Rte. 414, located between Gleason and Ogdensburg. His parents were Harry and Minnie Ginnell Groover. His father was born in Blossburg and his mother was born in Arnot. He obtained the farm from his father and continued its operations until he retired in 1988. He served with the Marine Corps during WW11. He belonged to the Canton V.F.W. Post #714, Wheel Inn Club in Roaring Branch, PA, a 50-year member of the Ogdensburg Grange #293, a life member of Canton Loyal Order of the Moose #429, and at the time of his death, he was an active member of the Marine Corps League in Ralston, Lycoming County, serving in its color guard, and president of the Ogdensburg Cemetery Association. He died at the Rose View Manor where he had been taken after suffering a severe stroke about a month before and was buried in the Ogdensburg Cemetery. His brothers were Edwin and Charles and his sister was Helen Groover Parker.
