 Mrs. Geraldine K. Champaign, 81, a resident of the Penns Wells Hotel, die d Tuesday, December 5, 1972 at the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospita l following a brief illness. She was the widow of W. Earle Champaign, th e first World War 1 casualty for this area of whom the W. Earle Champaig n American Legion Post was named. Mrs. Champaign was a member of the post 's auxiliary. She was born in Knoxville on July 16, 1891, a daughter of D r. and Mrs. Alonzo Kibbe. Mrs. Champaign was a member of the Wellsboro Pr esbyterian Church and St. Paul's Episcopal Womens Guild. She was retire d as a home demonstration expert with the Niagara-Mohawk Co., Cortland, N Y.
