Note: 2003 - Aug. 2 - Sarasota Herald-Tribune - FL: Charles Alvin Koepf, 85, Englewood, died July 31, 2003, at home following a short illness. He was born May 17, 1918, in Ladonia, Texas, and came to Englewood in 1984 from Bethesda, Md. He retired in 1968 from the Central Intelligence Agency, serving at several posts abroad. He was a member of the Fossils Club and the Elks in Bethesda and sang with the Washington Opera Guild Chorus and the choir of St. Mathews Cathedral. He was a Marine veteran of World War 11, serving with the 2nd Marine Division in the Battles for Guadalcanal, Tarawa and Saipan. He was wounded three times, earning him the Purple Heart. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Charlotte Clark; an aunt; a niece; three nephews. No visitation or memorial services are scheduled. National Cremation Society, Port Charlotte chapter, is in charge. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southwest Florida, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238.
