 Edward P. Heether Dies, Retired WHS Teacher
 Edward P. Heether, 87, of 208 Grampian Blvd., a retired Williamsport High School teacher, died in the Williamsport Hospital at 2:50 p.m. Sunday, November 28, 1982. He had been admitted to the hospital on November 17 following a fall at his home. Death resulted from cardiac arrest. Born in Williamsport, Mr. Heether was the son of John and Della Harer Heether. As a young man, he and his father operated a grocery store at Washington Boulevard and Almond Street. After being graduated from Lehigh University and earning a master's degree at New York University, he began teaching in the public schools. He taught at Curwensville High School for two years before joining the faculty of the local high school in 1934. He taught mathematics, physics and mechanical drawing, and retired in 1957. A member of the First Church of Christ, Disciples, he served as Sunday School superintendent and trustee for many years. He and his wife, the former Jeanette Fuller, were honored a year ago for 40 years of service, when they were presented with the annual VIP award. Mr. Heether represented his Church in the former area Council of Churches, and was one of the organizers of the Ecumenical Luncheon Club, forerunner of today's weekly Churchmen's luncheons. He was a senior member of the Salvation Army advisory board and a member of the Ross Club. A former member of the Williamsport Rotary Club, he directed its Junior Rotarian program for many years. He was a member of the board of managers of the former Williamsport Symphony. He was a member of Lodge 106, F&AM, for 63 years, and a life member of the Williamsport Scottish Rite. He was a past sovereign of the Williamsport Council, Princes of Jerusalem, and served as degree master of the 20th degree of the Williamsport Consistory for 20 years. Mr. Heether's wife, to whom he was married in June 1939, is his only survivor. the funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the church, 1250 Almond Street, with his pastor, the Rev. John N. Mostoller, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Derwood A. Strunk Jr., pastor of Pine Street Methodist Church. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery. Friends may call in the church lounge from 1 t o 2 p.m. Wednesday. The family will provide the flowers.
