Note: 1880 - June 4 - town of Arnot census: Alla Neal, age 30, a miner with wife Mary Ellen, age 25; could be twin to Alfred who was also in 1880 Arnot census. 1893 - Jan. 5 - Wellsboro Gazette: Swift and Co., the well-known dressed beef firm of Chicago, will build a large depot and warehouse at Blossburg, for storage and shipping of beef at wholesale. The building will be erected on the Alba Neal propery, corner of Hannibal and Ruah St. 1895 - Oct. 4 - Friday - "The Blossburg Advertiser" Mr. Alba Neal of Arnot has gone into the poultry business. He bought a big stock of prize-winning Plymouth Rock chickens at the Mansfield Fair and intends to win a prize or two himself next year. 1897 - Alva was living in Blossburg when his mother died. 1900 - June 15 - census, Main St., Blossburg, PA: Alva Neal, b. Neal (Mary E.) engineer Rattler Co., own home and Lot Morris 1908 - April 4, Friday - "The Blossburg Advertiser": Alba Neal who has been employed for some time by the Tioga Coal Co., at Rattler, has resigned his position and will go to Corning to reside. 1910 - April 26 - census - Blossburg: Alvy Neal, age 60, married once, married 35 years, coal miner, owns home , b. PA, parents b. Ireland Mary E., age 53, no children born to her, b. PA, parents b. Wales Westley Mitchell, nephew, age 15, he and parents b. PA 1910 - May - there is a deed in Steuben Co. for a lot west side of Bridge St. in Corning that Alba H. and Mary E. Neal bought May 2, 1910. 1925 - In Arbon Cem. is an Alba H. Neal - 1850-1925 and Mary E. Neal - 1856-1937 1925 - Will book Q - page 449 - will of Alba Neal, late of Blossburg - died Dec. 31, 1925 at 10:45 p.m., personal property of $200 and real estate of $1200 on town property in Blossburg - all goes to wife, Mary Ellen Neal - Edith Lewis witness to Mary Ellen's petition to probate will - J. J . Steveson was witness to Alba when he made out his will. 1926 - Jan. 7 - Thurs. - Wellsboro Gazette - Alba Neal funeral at Baptist Church, Blossburg - living are widow, sisters - Anna Ellison, Mrs. R. H . Smith, Angie Lewis, Mrs. William E. Champaign, all of Wellsboro. 1930 - April 12 - census - Morris St., Blossburg Borough: Mary Neal, widow, age 71, married at age 18, owns home - real estate $2000, has no radio in home 1937 - unknown source - Mary Ellen Lewis, b. 1856 in Blossburg to Lewis Lewis and Elizabeth L. Jones, died 1937, age 81, widow of Alba Neal. 1937 - Nov. 18 - Thurs. - Wellsboro Gazette: Mrs. Mary Ellen Neal, 81, widow of Alba Neal, died unexpectedly Sunday morning at her home as she was preparing to leave for Corning to spend the winter with her sister, Mrs. Thomas Williams. Mrs. Neal was born in Blossburg, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Lewis. She was a member of the Baptist Church and the Aruba Class. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Thomas Williams of Corning, and several nieces and nephews. 1941 - Register Docket BB, page 144: Affidavit by Amy Lewis Guernsey to show next of kin of Mary Ellen Neal that the Citizens National Bank of Blossburg would accept as security for a proposed mortgage loan, a tract of land in Blossburg conveyed by Mary Ellen Neal heirs to Stewart E. Reese and Mary E. Reese, wife, by deed dated August 7, 1941 in deed book 229, page 214. Amy's statements - Mary Ellen Neal died November 14, 1937. Her husband, Alba Neal, died January 1, 1924 or January 1, 1925. Mary Ellen had no children. She was the daughter of Lewis Lewis and Elizabeth Lewis who both died before 1900.
