W. MACK DIED SATURDAY Well Known Wellsboro Citizen Died On His Birthday. Everitt William Mack, aged 70 years, of 51 Pearl street, Wellsboro, died suddenly on his birthday, at his cottage on Pine Creek, Saturday night, Sept. 3. He was born in Wellsboro, Sept. 3, 1879, son of Russell L. and Josephine Illick Mack. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mae Smith Mack: two sons, Richard R. Mack, of Troy, N.Y. and E. Neal Mack, of Troy, Pa. ; one brother, James B. Mack, of Bradley, ILL.; one sister, Mrs. Josephine M. Johnson, of Marion, ILL., and three grandchildren. He was a member of the F.&A.M., R. A. Chapter and the Knights Templar, and the Presbyterian church. Mr. Mack was engaged in the mercantile business in Wellsboro many years and had been employed by the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board since 1933, as manager of the Wellsboro store. The funeral will be held Wednesday, Sept. 7, at 2 p.m., at 51 Pearl street, Rev. Robert W. L. Mark officiating; burial in the Wellsboro cemetery. 1950 - Feb. 23 - Wed. - Wellsboro Gazette: Mrs. E. W. Mack spent last Saturday and Sunday at the home of her son, Neal Mack and family in Troy where she and Mrs. Mabel Smart formerly of Wellsboro were honor guests at the 4th birthday party of their grandson, Freddie Mack on Saturday. 1969 - Feb. - Emma May Smith Mack was buried in the Wellsboro cemetery. 1995 - Nov. 1 - Wed. - Wellsboro Gazette - History of the Mack House on Pearl St., by Betty C. Frazier: Tidbits - The Macks sold their home in 1961. Mrs. Mack went to live with son Neal and daughter-in-law Caroline in Troy - Neal was born in the large front bedroom and some time later it was converted into two rooms.
