 Nellie belonged to the DAR - ID#156867 - She stated she was born in Arnot, PA, her dad was born 1861 and her mom born 1859, that mom and dad married in 1884, that her grandparents, Daniel and Rachel Neal, were married in 1843.

 Nellie Champaign Dies at Age 90
 Miss Nellie Champaign, 90 years old, of 25 Meade Street, Wellsboro died Tuesday, December 28, 1976 at the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital . She was born January 12, 1886 at Arnot, daughter of William and Emma Neal Champaign. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, and the W. Earle Champaign Post American Legion Auxiliary. She was a retired school teacher. Following graduation from West Chester College, Miss Champaign taught in the Wellsboro and Williamsport Schools for several years before going to Jersey City, N.J. where she spent the major portion of her teaching career at the high school as an instructor of English and History. She is survived by one sister Mrs. Charles (Louise) Snyder of Patton, Pa., with whom she spent her winters, one sister-in-law, Mrs. Rotha Champaign of Wellsboro, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Tussey Funeral Home with Rev. John J. Dromazos officiating. Burial in the Wellsboro Cemetery. There will be no visitation. The family will provide flowers. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Green Home.
