Note: "Harrison" was a son of Samuel Rutty (6-1770, Dutchess County, NY, 9-15-1 847, Leolyn, PA) and Polly Newell (12-25-1772, Brimfield, MA, 3-12-1861 , Leolyn). Harrison's grandparents were Ezra Rutty (born in Killingworth, Ct, died North Towanda, PA) and Anna Mary Simons (born in CT, died North Towanda, PA)
He and Margaret owned 200+ acres in Jackson Twp. which in the last few years of Harrison's life, they sold off in parcels keeping just 12 acres for themselves. Later, Margaret sold those 12 acres along with another property she had acquired after Harrison's death.
1850 - Sept. 14 - census - Canton Twp., Bradford Co., PA:
Harrison Rutty, age 30, farmer, value of real estate owned - $500, b. PA
Margaret, age 19, b. PA. They lived on Lake Hill, Canton, just past Lake Nephewan.
1853 - Harrison and Margaret had a child born in 1851, Richard H., who died in 1853, and was buried in the Rutty Cemetery, Leolyn/Carpenter, PA.
1860 - June 22 - census - Liberty Twp., Cherry Flats post office, Tioga Co., PA:
H. H. Rutty (spelled with one T), age 43, laborer, b. PA, no real estate, personal estate of $150
