PA, real estate of $3000 and persona l estate of $500 Rachel, age 50, b. PA Mary, age 23, b. PA Alfred, age 19, b. PA Nancy, age 16, b. PA Angeline, age 12, b. PA Emma, age 11, b. PA Catherin, age 7, b. PA Edna, age 19, b. PA 1879 - Daniel died at the age of 61, buried in Union Church Cemetery, Liberty, Tioga County, PA. 1880 - census - Arnot - Tioga Co.: Rachel Neal, age 59, widow *She was residing with her son, Alfred R. Neal* 1897 - Rachel was buried in Union Church Cemetery, Liberty, PA. She was a daughter of John Ridge Jr., and Mary Dawson of Liberty Twp. Her grandfather, John Ridge Sr., was in the Battle of Long Island, Revolutionary War with Colonel Sam Atlee's Battalion of Lancaster Volunteers, located in Philadelphia - source for John Ridge family found in Nellie Champaign's records of "Liberty Township Families", Vol 9, at The Tioga County Historical Society, Wellsboro, PA. 1897 - Aug. 6 - Friday - "The Blossburg Advertiser": Mrs. Rachel Neal of Arnot died on Monday morning, August 2, 1897, in the 78th year of her age. Her maiden name was Rachel Ridge. Her husband died about 18 years ago. The children surviving her are Mrs. E. M. Parker of Morris, Pa.; Mrs. James Huey of Watkins, N.Y.; Mrs. David Ellison of Blossburg; A. R. Neal of Arnot; A. H. Neal and Mrs. William Lewis of Blossburg; Mrs. Richard Smith and W. E. Champaign of Wellsboro; Mrs. Howard A. Mitchell of Blossburg; The deceased was a woman of great industry and perseverance, and greatly distinguished for her neighborly and friendly acts of kindness and benevolence. The funeral occurred on Wednesday of this week, Rev. Brown of the Arnot Presbyterian church officiating. Her son s and sons in law acted as pall bearers. The interment was in Liberty.
