Stratton - post office, Arnot - miner - owns house at 156 D Castle Garden 1899 - Death record at Wellsboro, Tioga County Courthouse, PA; Henry S. Stratton, d. Aug. 2, 1899, Bright's disease, duration of 3 days, miner, b. Sunbury, PA, died Union Twp., married, buried Ogdensburg; recorded 12 Aug 1899. Then another record recorded on 13 Dec 1899 - Henry Stratton, born in Bodines, PA, farmer, died Ogdensburg of Bright's disease for 10 days, 52 yrs, married, buried Ogdensburg. 1899 - August 11 - Friday - "The Blossburg Advertiser": Ogdensburg: On Friday, August 4, occurred the funeral of Henry Stratton who died at his home in this place the Wednesday preceding. Mr. Stratton was well and favorably known in this vicinity having been born in Ogdensburg 52 years ago, he had spent the greater part of his life hereabouts and his death was a shock to many friends as well as to the members of the family. The funeral attested to the esteem in which he was held it being one of the most largely attended, ever held in this place. The floral tributes were many and beautiful. Many of the members of the K. G. E. of Arnot, of which he was a member came to pay their last tribute of respect. Henry Stratton was born in Ogdensburg, in 1847. He was a son of David and Sara Stratton both deceased. In 1871 he was united in marriage to Miss Mattie Blakesly. To this union were born seven children six of whom are living, they are: Clayton Stratton, of Arnot; Frederick, Guy, Misses Linna, Lottie and Lelia, who are left to mourn with their bereaved mother at their home in this place, the death of a loving husband and father. The pall bearers who were chosen from members of this lodge were as follows: Thomas Roberts, Wm. Cembers, Benj. Roberts, John Daly, James Bonnell, John Johnson. The funeral service were under the auspices of the K. G. E. A beautiful and touching sermon was delivered by Rev. Brown of Arnot. Besides his wife and children, Mr. Stratton leaves 8 brothers and sisters as follows: Mrs. Mary Stull, Palo; Wm. Stratton, Arnot; Mrs. Jesiah Bindley, Sunbury; Mrs. Cornelius Dibble and Mrs. R. T. Blaikie, Picture Rocks; John and David Stratton, Marsh Hill; Chas. Stratton, Rock Run, with a large circle of friends to miss one who always had a pleasant smile and a kind word for all. 1900 - June 19 - census - Bloss Twp., Tioga Co., PA: Martha Stratton, b. April 1855, age 45, widow, mother of 6 with 6 living, she and parents b. PA Frederick, son, b. March? 1877, age 23, single, coal miner, b. PA Guy, son, b. May 1883, age 17, single, b.
