PA *Clay Henry* Alice, age 13, b. PA Minnie, age 3, b. PA 1917 - Clay's parents were James Herman and Mary J. Bunn. Clay's mother, Mary, died 19 Mar 1917, Elmira, NY. Her children surviving were; Clay, Mrs. Alice Herrington, and Mrs. Minnie Stull, both daughters living in Elmira. Her sisters were Mrs. Emeline Ogden and Mrs. Matilda Booth, both of Blossburg and a brother, Fred Bunn of Ogdensburg. 1913 - Clay's father, James Herman, obit from "Elmira Star Gazette", Nov. 2, 1913: James Herman, a lifelong resident of Ogdensburg died at his home in that place Wednesday, Oct. 22, aged 85 yrs. He was a veteran of the Civil War, Vol., Co D, 12th Reg., N.Y. Calv. He was blind and in failing health for a number of years. He bore his suffering with Christian fortitude and was patient and cheerful until the end. Survived by aged widow, one son, H. Clay Herman, two daughters, Mrs. Alice Herrington of Elmira and Mrs. Minnie Stull of Elmira. Burial at Ogdensburg.
