a. Note:   "The Canton Sentinel", Thurs., Nov. 4, 1937: James Herman, died October 31, in the Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, PA, at the age of 46. He is survived by his widow, three children, James Jr. of Grover, Donald of Rochester, and Marguerite of Corning; one sister, Mrs. Etta Champney of Canton; brothers, Albert, Nathan, and Frank of Ogdensburg, Harry and Emerson of Canton, and Elwin of Rochester, and his father, Clay, of Canton. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon from the home of his brother, Emerson, and interment was made in Park Cemetery. Rev. John Osberg and Rev. E. R. Sidler were the officiating clergyman. Marriage Certificate #7923 at Bradford County Courthouse; James was living in Ogdensburg and stated his occupation as laborer. He and Jane Aleida were married by the Rev. A. T. Autry.
