Note: William "Willie" was living in Arnot, Tioga County, PA, when he and Maggie were married. He was a coal miner while living there. They were known to be living on Center St., Canton, in 1931. He and Maggie had a daughter, Pearl, who died 9/24/1893, from liver complaint that lasted 3 weeks, no age given, buried in Blossburg; death record, Bk. 1, page 5, line 34. There is also a son listed in death records; Bk. 1,page 21, line 14; Russell Hopkins, died 10/22/1895 from bowel complaint, three weeks old, living in Arnot, and buried in Blossburg. "The Blossburg Advertiser", Fri., Sept. 29, 1893: Pearl May, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Hopkins, of Arnot, died on Sunday, September 24, aged 6 months 21 days. The funeral was held on Monday and the interment was in the Odd Fellows Cemetery of this place, Rev. Rees and Elliott officiating. June 19, 1900 Bloss Twp. census: William Hopkins, b. June 1871, age 29, married 8 years, coal miner Margaret, wife, b. 1870, age 30, four children with 1 living, b. PA, parents b. Scotland Grace G., daughter, b. 1899, age 1 1930 census, 253 Union St., Canton, Bradford Co., PA: William K. Hopkins, age 59, married at 21, he and parents b. PA, laborer at hanger factory Margaret, wife, age 60, married at 22, b. PA, dad b. Scotland, mom b. Scotland Charles, son, age 18, single, b. PA "The Canton Sentinel", Thurs., Aug. 18, 1938: William Hopkins died August 14, 1938, at the home of his son, Charles. Death followed a lingering illness of heart trouble. He was 67 years old and is survived by a son, Charles of Canton; three daughters, Mrs. Samuel Guy of Johnson City, Mrs. Frank Hall of Arnot, and Mrs. William Lanterman of East Orange, N.J.; a sister, Mrs. Bert Norman of Blossburg; two brothers, Bert of Williamsport and Melville of Hanover; also five grandchildren. Mrs. Hopkins died during the past winter. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon from his late home and interment was made in the Blossburg Cemetery.
