Belle claimed DAR membership #113506 through her mother, Angeline Kilbourn; her grandparents, Ozias Kilburn and wife, Sally Page Wetmore; her great grandparents, Jehiel Kilborn and his wife, Amy Vail. In the book "Story of the Susquehanna & New York", by Edward L. Kaseman, third edition, 1979, talks about the Heylmuns working for the Susquehanna and N. Y. RR. James W. was at first an engineer and then was master mechanic at their repair shop yards in Towanda till 1910. Then, according to his son, Stanley, the RR decided to use their empty building and yards at West Williamsport for repairs so the RR reduced repair work at Towanda and James ran the 102 (train engine) into the Williamsport yards and H. M. Miller became new master mechanic. Stanley never worked for the S. & N. Y. but was an agent for a time with the Susquehanna & Eagles Mere at Masten, PA. James's son, (Stanley's older brother) Sam, was an engineer for the S. & N. Y. Ralph Solt was a brakeman for the RR. Stanley related the story how Sam became an engineer for the RR; Sam was a fireman for his father on the Grays Run Railroad and one day while his dad, engineer at the time, was on a log run at the upper end of the line when C. S. Horton, president of the S. & N. Y., and other important people wanted a tour of the Grays Run Railroad, Sam thought he could handle the job in his father's place and so acted as engineer on that trip. He worked as engineer since that time; it was never heard of to be a fireman for just a short time before being promoted to engineer. The Grays Run Railroad was aquired by the S. & N. Y. in 1903.
