Note: Celestia's father was Joseph Groover and her mother was Margaret Newell. Joseph Groover lineage: 1. Ebenezer Gruver and Ann Putt 2. Ebenezer Grover, b. Middlesex Co., MA and Sarah Scammon 3. Joseph Gruver, b. 1748, Norwich, New London, CT, d. 1828, Springfield, Bradford Co., PA, and Elizabeth ?. 4. Joseph Gruver and Margaret Newell, buried Stull Cem. They were married Sept. 25, 1828 with newspaper stating they were both from Jackson Twp. Margaret was a daughter of Josiah Newell, b. 1793, Sheshequin, Bradford Co., buried Newelltown Cem. and Lydia Ogden, b. c1773, Wysox, d. 1833, buried Newelltown Cem. Lydia Ogden's parents were Gabriel Ogden who was b. 1729 in NJ, d. 1797 in Northhampton Co., PA, and Mary ?, b. c1759, d. 1806, Bradford Co. 5. Celestia Groover m. John Stratton Margaret Newell's grandparents were John Newell and Mary Willard. John buried Rutty Cem. and Mary's burial site unknown. 1890 - June 14 - Saturday - Gazette and Bulletin - Ogdensburg, June 13: Mrs. John B. Stratton died May 14. Her remains were laid to rest in the Ogdensburg Cemetery May 16. She leaves behind a husband, two daughters and a son to mourn her death. The wife of Edwin Stratton, deceased, son of J. B. Stratton, died at Elmira, New York, on the 4th instant. Her remains were brought here for internment. She leaves a little child three months old. This makes the third death in the family of J. B. Stratton within nine months, a son, wife, and daughter-in-law. Mr. Stratton has the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community.
