Note: "The Sunday Review", Towanda, PA, March 1, 1998: Richard "Dick" Lodge, 68, of Acadia, Fla., formerly a resident of Canton, passed awy Thursday, Feb. 26, 1998, in Port Charlotte, Fla., following a brief illness. Dick was born July 5, 1929, in Grover. He was a son of the late Russell Lodge and D. Leah McCraken Lodge Maroney. Dick was a graduste of Canton High School, Class of 1947. In earlier years Dick was employed by the former Rwmington Rand in Elmira for 25 years until its closure. Dick then moved to Acadia, Fla., where he worked as a self-employed aluminum contractor until his death. He was a member of the Arcadia Moose and was a former member of the Canton Moose Lodge No. 429. Dick was a hard worker. He will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends. Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Norma Morgan Lodge, at home; daughter, Susan Jennings of Largo, Fla.; daughter and son-in-law Tanya and Rick Parrish of Arcadia, Fla. three stepsons and their spouses; Scott and Julie Parker, Homer and Carole Parker, and Craig and Laurie Parker, all of Canton; eight grandchildren and a great-granddaughter; a brother, Edward Lodge of Canton; a brother-in-law, Jerry Vollmer; a sister-in-law Ann Lodge, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by an infant sister, Edna Lodge; a borther, John "Jack" Lodge; and a sister, Barbara Vollmer. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 3, 1998 at the pepper Funeral Home, Springbrook Drive, Canton. The funeral and committal service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Willard Strunk, pastory of the Grover Church of Christ, officiating. Interment will be held in the Grover Cemetery, Canton Township. The family suggests that memorials may be directed to the Grover Church of Christ's Memorial Fund, Po Box 83, Grover, Pa. 17735 in Mr. Lodge's memory.
