His residence was 1018 Wilkes Barre St., Easton; length of residence - 20 yrs.; widow - Lena White; informant - Lena M. Carey of 1018 Wilkes Barre St. His father was Thomas Carey, b. PA; his mother was Mary Bratzman, b. PA. His doctor was Dr. Richards of Easton; burial in Hay's Cemetery on Oct. 21, 1936 by Ralph R. Pittenger, undertaker, Easton. 1936 - Oct. 19 - Easton Express - Easton: John Carey, 77, died last night at his home, 1018 Wilkes-Barre street. He was born in Cedarville and moved to Ogdensburg when he was a young man. He returned to Easton 20 years ago. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Lena Ivey Carey; a son, Francis Carey, of Philadelphia; a daughter, Mrs. William Hall, of Ogdensburg; two step-sons, Raymond H. Ivey, Edward W. Ivey; two step-daughters, Mrs. Arthur Strunk, Mrs. Dorothy LaBarre, all of this city; 12 grandchildren; a half-brother, J. A. The Rev. Earl S. Erb, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, conducted the services and interment was in Hay's cemetery. The pallbearers were Raymond and Edward Ivey, William Diehl, Stanley Lum, Arthur Strunk and John Hall. 1937 - Sept. 24 - death of Lena White Carey; she was born Sept. 15, 1869; she was buried in Hays Cemetery in Easton; her headstone is between Edward Ivey and John Carey.
