  1881 - Bessie was born to Curtis H. Treat and Myrtle Irvin and was a granddaughter of John Irvin, a former sheriff of Tioga County, PA.
  1900 - Sept. 21 - Fri. - "Blossburg Advertiser": Miss Bessie Treat and Frank Canis were married in Watkins Sept. 18, 1900. Both are popular young people of Ogdensburg, and their many friends send congratulations.
  1906 - Aug. 4 - Rathbun's Grove in Ogdensburg - Mrs. Francis Canis and son of Morris Run attended the 6th annual reunion of the descendants of Robert and David Stratton

  Bessie's sister was Mildred, born at Ogdensburg, February 3, 1895, married Berton Evans of Roaring Branch, PA; her brothers were Harry, born at Gleason, April 18, 1886, died May 16, 1886 and John, born at Elmira, February 12, 1890 and lived in Roaring Branch, PA, married Marjorie Van Dyke, children were Philip and Helen.
