Note: 1938 - The 1938 graduating seniors at Canton High School did a project in which each senior wrote a sketch of a classmate and "The Canton Sentinel" printed those sketches in their weekly paper; Thurs., March 24, 1938: Every Friday night there is a dance in the Swamp Grange Hall at Ogdensburg and one of the very light-footed dancers is known to everyone as Bessie Hall. "Toots" as she is called by many of her classmates, came to Canton High School as a freshman from Ogdensburg. During her school life, she has taken a course in Home Economics which we all knew she has enjoyed very much. She has been a member of the Girl Reserves for the past two years and has made a very successful member. Bessie is known as one of the greatest gigglers in the senior class. "Giggle, Bessie; it is good for you." When she is concentrating she always has a frown on her face so that you know she was thinking of something. "Toots" is among one of the smallest in the senior class. You see her strutting her way through the hall as though she were a mouse, but when you once get acquainted with her, you have something more than a mouse to think about. Bessie is undecided as to what she will undertake when she is through school. But whatever she strives to do the class of "38" wishes her the best of luck and success in the world. 1940 - Marriage Docket 28 - Tioga County Court, Wellsboro, PA: Bride - Bessie Hall birth - October 7, 1920, Morris Run, age 19 residence - Ogdensburg occupation - Ward Foundry father - William Hall, b.
