Note: 1967 - Aug. 17 - Thurs. - Wellsboro Gazette: Dale W. Hadley Killed Instantly In One-Car Crash Sunday on Rt. 15 Blossburg residents were shocked Sunday morning to learn of the death of Dale William Hadley, 23, son of James and Bessie Hall Hadley of Blossburg, RD. Hadley was killed in a one-car accident Sunday morning at 2:25 a.m. on Route 15 one mile south of Mansfield at Canoe Camp. According to Mansfield State Police Officer William Klassner who investigated the accident, Hadley was traveling alone south on Route 15 when he lost control of his 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle Car. The car rolled over several times, left the highway and onto the lawn of William Inscho. Hadley was thrown from the auto which struck a tree and then a barn, finally coming to rest on the highway. Hadley was killed instantly with a fractured neck and skull. Dr. Robert Sanford, of Mansfield, reported Hadley dead at the scene. William Wilkinson, of Wellsboro, deputy coroner, released the body to Auld Funeral Home, North Williamson Road, Blossburg. Hadley was born in Blossburg, March 11, 1944, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Hadley of Blossburg. He was a graduate of North Penn Joint High School, class of 1962 and was a member of the F.&A.M. Lodge No. 350. He enlisted in the United States Army June 21, 1965, and had recently returned from Vietnam. He planned to return to work in the Corning Glass Works at Corning this week. Survivors include his parents; a sister, Mrs. Sharon Bolt of Mansfield RD, and a brother Donald in the United States Army, stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Funeral services were held at the Auld Funeral Home Wednesday with burial in Arbon Cemetery.
