Suicide Theory Scoted By Many Word was received in this vicinity Monday Morning of the death of James N. Ellis of Eton which occured Sunday night in Etowah, Tenn. Mr. Ellis was found dead Monday morning and the general supposition is that he had committed suicide. Death was caused by a pistol ball which passed through his right temple, and when the corspe was found a pistol with one chamber empty was found close at hand. As stated above, the supposition is that he committed suicide, although some are inclined tp doubt this and hint foul play. The deceased was a son of Marion Ellis, he was about 30 years old and leaves a wife and four children. He was a member of the IOOF which order had charge of the funeral arrangements Tuesday. Rev. Lightfoot preached the funeral service. The death of the young man is especially hard on the family as a brother was accidentally killed about a year ago. LATER: Shortly before goint to press, the News was informed that the Coroner's jury had returned a verdict that deceased met his death by a ball from a pistol in the hand of a party unknown.
