a. Note:   Widnes Garage Proprietor�s Death The death occurred on Sunday December 18th, of Mr.John Parker, 472 Liverpool Road, Hough Green, Widnes, at the age of 64. Mr.Parker was well known in Widnes as the proprietor of CHARLES PARKER & SONS motor engineers, Hough Green, and was a member of one of the oldest families in Widnes.
 He established the garage business on his return from the first world war and in 1926 the firm moved to it�s present premises in Liverpool Road. He was an Active Freemason, and was Master of Appleton Lodge No.6468 in 1958.
 For many years he was chairman of the Hough Green Recreation Club and Hough Green Scouts Parents Association and was also trustee of Hough Green Methodist Chapel.
 Prior to cremation at Widnes on Wednesday, the Rev.D.A.Bullen officiated at a service at the Methodist Chapel. The organist, Mr.G.Harper, accompanied the congregation in the singing of �Who fathoms the eternal thought� and �In Heavenly love abiding�.
 The chief mourners were; Wife Het, and John , son; Joan and Fred, daughter and son-in-law; Olive and Ron, daughter and son-in-law; Michael and Lucy, son and daughter-in-law; Miss E.A.Parker, sister; Mrs.J.Twiss, sister; Mrs.E.E.Parker, sister-in-law; Roger and Vonda, nephew and niece; Wendy and Gill, niece and nephew; Mrs.R.R.Turton, sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs.R.Turton; Beryl and Edgar.
 The general mourners included ; many friends and business associates.
 The bearers were; employees of Charles Parker and Sons:- Messrs I.Dutton, W.Fildes, T.Worral and G.Wilson.
