Note: 90 YEARS IN AIKEN COUNTY Gaspar Loren Toole II JOHN EVANS EUBANKS-son of Samuel D., and Etta Hatcher Eubanks. Born August 12, 1892. Brought up on the farm located near Pentecost Church on Pine Log Road. Graduated from Wafford Colledge in 1916 with A.B. and A.M. Degrees. Received a Master's degree from Columbia University. Also studied at the American Academy in Rome, Italy. Married Frances Stackhouse, daughter of Rev. R. E. Stackhouse, and started teaching at Richmond Academy the same year. He has taught there continuously since that time and at the Junior College since its founding in 1925. He is the author of the book, "Ben Tillman's Baby-The Dispensary System." AUGUSTA CHRONICLE 23 May 1974 Professor Emeritus John Eubanks dies John Evans Eubanks, 81, 929 Heard Avenue, died Saturday at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Monday in St,. James United Methodist Church with the Revs., Noel Swanson and Robert Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Westover Memorial Park. A native of Aiken County he was professor emeritus at Augusta College and a member of St. James United Methodist Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Luise Maria Diebels Eubanks, Augusta, and two sisters, Mrs. W. A. Morgan, Valdosta, Ga., and Mrs. W.H.S.. Johnson, Crescent City, Fla. Pallbearers will include James B. March, James Rough, W. B. Adams, Dr. A.P Laseter, W. Wilson Corley and H.B. Stribling. Honorary pallbearers will include the administrative board of St. James United Methodist Church. Friends may call at Poteet Funeral Home Greene Street Chapel.
