Note: Earl (Shunk) was killed by lightning while sitting in his buggy under a tree. His companion and the horse escaped. He had just graduated from Langley-Bath High School. Aiken standard 23 June 1926 Mr. Earl Galloway, while riding with a companion near, Warrenville, Saturday night, stopped beneath a tree to escape a hard shower. Lightning struck the tree, and he was killed instantly. He was seated in a buggy, and it was a miracle his companion and the horse escaped. Funeral services were held at Pentecost church on Monday afternoon Rev. A. B. Ferguson, of Graniteville, officiating, assisted by Rev. Mr. white of Langley. Interment was made at Warrenville. He is survived by his mother and father, Mr. and Mrs Marshall Galloway, two sisters, Mrs. Nettie Gibson of Denmark and Mrs. Lizzie Walker, of Aiken. Mr. Galloway was just 20 years of age, and was a fine young man, having just graduated from the Langley-Bath High School. <img src=" http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~cat1/earlgalloway.jpg ">
