Note: AIKEN STANDARD Aiken, South Carolina 3 December 1969 Warrenville Man Dies Of Chemical Burns LANGLEY - One man has died of buns from a chemical explosion at the VaIchem plant of United Merchants and Manufacturing Co., Wednesday. Two other persons were reported injured when they tried to aid William Walker of Warrenville following the explosion. The accident occurred shortly after the men went to work and Walker died in an Augusta, Ga. hospital several hours later. Details of the accident could not be learned from the company officials last night. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 4 p.m. from the Pentecost United Methodist Church near Warrenville, with the Rev. Olin Sizemore assisted by the Rev. Earl Satcher and the Rev. Roy Hays officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Walker was a native of Augusta, a Veteran of World War II, and a member of Pine Forest Baptist church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs Mary Toole Walker of Warrenville; four sons, William C. Walker, Larry Wayne Walker, Charles Martin Walker and John Steven Walker all of the home; parents, Mr. and Mrs. George W. Walker of Aiken; one sister, Mrs. Willian E. Willis of Aiken; three brother, George Everette Walker, Thomas E. Walker and Harry M. Walker all of Aiken; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Galloway of RFD 1 Warrenville. Friends may call at the home of his parents, 3419 Seneca Ave., in Aiken or at Posey's Funeral Home in Graniteville.
