Messuage or tenement, land & premises above mentioned... Signed: John Bostick Wit: William Bostick, Absalom Bostick, Bethunia Bostick Recorded 18 November 1762 His father John Bostick left in trust for him, 120 acres in Halifax County, Virginia, Deed dated July 1, 1762, Book 4, page 118. He was only about 16 at this time. He sold this property to his brother-in-law Valentine Hatcher, husband of his sister Jemima, on 28 July 1767 Deed Book 1 Pg. 85, Pittsylvania County, Virginia.- He received 90 acres from his brother, William Bostick in Pittsylvania County. (Deed Bk. I Pg. 28) This same 80 acres was bought on 20 May 1760, by John Bostick, father of William and Nathaniel (Deed Bk. 2 Pg. 191 Halifax County, Virginia. Nathaniel sold this same 90 acres on 23 July 1767 to George Holmes Guinn, his father-in-law. (Note for record, all the Guinn families in Georgia are probably descendants of this, George Holms Gevin\Guinn) 31 July 1854, Hillery B. Bostick (Son of Nathaniel) made an affidavit in connection to a Revolutionary War pension (File R 1040) of John Bostick (1765- 1850) (Grandfather of Hillery). The affidavit states that Nathaniel did not move to Georgia until after the end of Revolutionary War and Hillery's family was in Surry County, North Carolina (later, part of Surry became Stokes County) Hillery also stated that Hillery and John Bostick (1765-1850) (Son of Abaslom Bostick (1740-1803) were, "boys together in Surry County, North Carolina". NOTE: The statement by Hillery Bostick that, Nathaniel did not move to Georgia until after the Revolutionary War, contradicts, DAR # 138-259, by Lillie Carpenter of Barto, Florida. She states he was a Private in GeorgiaTroops. This researcher, James Bostick Morse, found records that, indicates he was with the Georgia Troops.
