Know all men by these presents, that I, Richard Hankinson of Barnwell District in the State aforesaid in consideration of the sum of Two hundred Dollars to me paid by James Buckler of the District and State aforesaid have granted bargained sold and released and by these presents Doth grant bargain sell and release unto the said James Buckler all that tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the District and State aforesaid containing one hundred acres be the same more or less being one half part of a tract of two hundred acres, orginially conveyed by William Pinkeny to John Turner declared and left by said John Turner to Ezekiel Williams and willed by said Ezekiel Williams to his daughter Ann; at present the wife of the said Richard Hankinson bounded at the time of survey on Savannah River at Point Comfort of which the aforesaid is one ----- of the Point Comfort Tract, and all other sides Vacant at time of the original survey. Allen Also see a memo within of the amount I owe Mr. Addison Previous to the 21st of Dec. 1838, I owed Mr. Addison for 2 pair of Negro Shoes $2 and 2 Gallon of Molasses $1.25, and they say I got 2pr more of Negroe shoes for Tom & Jack $2 and borrowed one dollar cash of him to pay Mr. Powell for a bal on a Counterpane so that I now owe him in all up to this time $5.25. I also got this day 2 Gal Mollasses, but I paid the money for it. O.D. James Hankinson one of the subject witnesses to the Will and Richard Hankinson another witness were not summoned they were living in Edgefield which may not known until the day of trial and Mr. L. Eubanks was the only Heir that attended. It was a sorry wet day. And the Court adjourned in order that a three month notice might be given in a Newspaper to the subject Heirs. O.D. And Mr. L. Eubanks being the only Heir in attendance, the day being a sorry wet one, having rained all the morning, and it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that Mr. Glover F. Green and Wife had removed out of the state and that James Hankinson & Richard Hankinson two of the subscribing witnesses to the Will the other being dead lived in Edgefield and had not been summoned which circumstances were not before known and after hearing arguments upon the matter, the Court adjourned to no fixed day, in order that a three month notice might be published in a News-Paper to give notice to the subject Heirs.
