PALMER brought suit in New Bern District Court, and RITCHIE did not appear, and did not make any defense. The court determined, therefore, that PALMER was entitled to damages from RITCHIE, but the amount is not known. A jury consisting of Constantine WHITFIELD, Frederick BECTON, John GARRARD, Thos.
