Given under my hand & Seal, this Sixth day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & in the twenty fifth year of American Independence. Whensoever any of the Goods and Chattles of the said Andrew Bates are or do remain within the said parts and places and which shall be shown you by the said Edy Bates and then give and Appraise all and every the Goods and Chattles being first sworn on the Holy Evangelist of Almighty, to make a true and perfect inventory and appraisement thereof, and to cause the same to be returned under your Hands or any three or four of you to the said Edy Bates on or before the first Monday in March next insuing - Dated the 2nd day of February Anni Domini 1801 Gid'n Haygood To William Green, William Weathersby & William Key Ordinary Office Recorded Book A Page 58 ***************************************************** SOUTH CAROLINA(Administration Bond with the Will annexed) Barnwell District Know all men by these Presents, That we Edy Bates, William Green and Absolum Green of the State and District aforesaid are holden and firmly bound unto Gideon Haygood Esquire Ordinary for the District of Barnwell in the full and just sum of two thousand five hundred dollars, to be paid to the said Gideon Haygood Esquire or his Successors, Ordinaries of this District, or to their certain Attorneys or Assigns. To which payment will and truly be made to bind ourselves, and every one of us, our and every of our Heirs, Executors, and Administrators, for the whole, and in the whole, jointly and fevorally firmly by these Presents, sealed with our Seals, and dated the eleventh day of February in the year of Lord one thousand eight hundred and one and in the twentyfifth year of American Independence. The Condition of this Obligation is such, That if the above Edy Bates Administratix (with the Will annexed) of the Goods, Chattels, and Credits of the Late Andrew Bates of said District, Deceased, do make, or cause to be made, a true and perfect Inventorky of all and Singular the Goods, Chattels, and Credits of the said Deceased, which have or shall come to the Hands or Possession or knowledge of the said Edy Bates or into the Hands or Possesson of any other Persons for Barnwell District and the same _Court of Ordinary for said District at such time as she shall be __ said Court and the same Goods, Chattels, and Credits, do well and truly administer according to Law and make__account of her Actions and Doings when by Law required and all the Rest of the said Goods, Chattels and Credits which shall be found remaining upon the account of the said Administrator the same being first allowed by the said Court shall deliver and pay unto such persons respectively as are intitled to the same by Law; and if it shall hereafter appear that any last Will and Testament was made by the said deceased and the same be produced into Courts and the Executors obtain a certificate of the Probate thereof and the said Edy Bates do in such case if required, render and deliver the said Letter of Adminstration, then this obligation to be �__ else to remain in full force. William Green, William Weathersbee & Wm Key being three of the Appraisers appointed to appraise the goods and chattels of Andrew Bates deceased- who being duly sworn made oath, that they would make a just and true appraisement of all & Singular the goods and Chattels (ready money only excepted) of Andrew Bates Deceased as shall be produced by Edy Bates Administrator of the deceased and that they would return the same certified under their hand unto the said Edy Bates within the time prescribed by Law. Sworn to before me this 11 February 1801 Rich'd Tredaway ************************************ South Carolina By Gideon Hagood Ordinary To Richard Treadaway Esquire In Reposing a special trust and confidence in your integrity and circumspection, have and by these presents do give unto you the said Rich'd Treadaway full power an authority to administer the Usual Administration oath unto Edy Bates Administrator of all and Singular the Goods, Rights and Credits of Andrew Bates, deceased on the Holy Evangelist of Almighty God before you to be taken, which so executed with your doings in the primises, to return with all convenient speed into the Ordinary's office of this District. Given under my hand and Seal 2nd. day of February in the year of our Lord 1801 and in the Twenty fifth year of American Independence. Bates Deceased made no Will in so far as you know and Believe, and that you will produce to them and inform the Appraisers that shall be appointed by the Ordinary all and Singular the Goods and Chattels of the Said A. Bates deceased as already have or shall, before dthe day of Making the Appraisment come into your hands Possession or knowledge and that you will well and truly Administer all and Singular the Goods Chattles Rights and Credits of the said deceased and pay his debts as far as his estate will extend and that you will make a true and perfect inventory of all the Rights and Credits of the said deceased whether the same be in Ready Money, Judgments, bonds, or other �specialties or notes of hand together with a list or Schedule of the Book of Accounts of the said deceased, and exhibit or cause to to be exhibited , the said Inventory or Schedule, together with the Appraisment of dthe said deceased's Goods and Chattels.
