Then I give and Bequeath to my well beloved Son John my Negro wench and both her Children except to my wife should be with child and if she is and it should come to perfection the wenches two children one be to one of my Children and the other to the other and if the wench should have any more Children and my wife is now with Child and it comes to perfection let the negroes be equally devided between the Children Item I give and bequeath to my Child or Children my plantation whereon I live and all that Survey of Land to be equally divided if there should be another child Item I give and bequeath to my child or children all my stock of horses all cattle and hogs to be equally devided up if their should be two Children. Item I give and Bequeath to my Child or Children all my household furniture Item I Lend to my Well beloved wife Sarah all my Living during her natural Life or widowhood and then to fall to my Child or Children and I do appoint my well beloved brother Josiah Stallings and my brother in law Absolom Green Executors of this my Last will and testament by them freely to be possest and Injoyed and I do hereby utterly disavow Revoke and disannul all and every other former Testaments wills Legeses bequeaths and Executors by me in any before named willed and bequeathed Ratifying and Confirming this and no other to be my Last will and Testament in witness whereof I have unto set my hand and Seal this ninth day of October one thousand Eight hundred and three Signed Sealed and published and declared by the said James Stallings as his last will and testament in the presence of us who in his presents and in the presents of Each other have hereunto subscribed our names. Gideon Haygood, CC Ordinary Barnwell District Recorded Book A, Page 32 & 33 ****************************** Warrant Application SOUTH CAROLINA Barnwell District By Gideon Haygood Esquire, Ordinary These are to authorise and empower you, or any three or four of you, whose names are hereunder written, to repair to all such parts and places, within this state, as you shall be directed unto by Josiah Stallings and Absolom Green Executors of James Stallings late of Barnwell District and State of South Carolina deceased, wheresoever any of the goods and chattels of the said deceased are or do remain within the said parts and places, and which shall be shewn unto you by the said Josiah Stallings and Absolom Green and there view and appraise all and every the said goods and chattels, being first sworn on the Holy Evangelists of Almighty God, to make a true a perfect inventory and appraisement thereof, and to cause the same to be returned under your hands or any three or four of you, to the said Josiah Stallings and Absolum Green on or before the first day of December now next ensuing. This 21th day of November 1803 personally appeared before me, ___Ordinary Esquire, one of the justices assigned to keep the peqce in Barnwell district, William Green Senr, Isaac Bush & John Bryant being three of the appraisers appointed to appraise the goods and chattels of James Stallings deceased: who being duly sworn, make oath, that they would make a just and true appraisement of all and singular the goods and chattels (ready money only accepted) of the Estate said James Stallings deceased, as shall be produced by Josiah Stallings, Absolom Green Executors of the estate of the said James Stallings deceased, and that they would return the same, certified under their hands, unto the said Josiah Stallings & Absolum Green within the time prescribed by law.
