Bartlett Brown jun and James Brown jun sons to Bartlett of the same province of the other part Witnesseth that for and in the consideration of the sum of one thousand pounds lawful money from the said Bartlett jr & James Brown jr to the said Christian Bear also Barr on before the ensealing and Delivery of these presents in hand will and freely paid the full receipt whereof the said Christian Bear doth hereby acknowledge and hereof and every part and parcel thereof doth fully and absolutely acquit & release & discharge the said Bartlett and James Brown their heirs & Adm forever by these presents he the said Christian Barr hath granted Bargained sold and released conveyed and confirmed and by these presents doth fully and absolutely grant bargain sell release convey and confirm unto the said Bartlett Brown Jun and James Brown Jun in their actual possession now being a bargain and sail to them thereof made by the said Christian Bear for one whole year by an Indenture of Law bearing date the day next before the Day and date thereof sealed and Delivered before the sealing of these presents & by force & Virtue of the Statute of Transferring Uses into Possession and to their heirs and assigns all that parcel or tract of Land containing two hundred acres situated in Granville County by the Savannah River bounded to the southward by said River and other sides by vacant lands and lands laid out for John Higgoon and granted to William Gamble and hath shapes and marks as the plat annexed for Grant for the same doth appear Together with all the woods and underwoods Timber and timber trees houses lakes ponds fishing waters and water courses buildings orchards ways feedings tenements profits commodities appurtenances hereditaments whatsoever belonging or any wise appertaining and the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders rents issues & profits also all the estate right title intrust & use property claim and demand whatsoever of him the said Christina Bear or his heirs in or to the same or any part or parcel thereof but in Law or Equity together with the original grant granted to the said Christian Bear by the Honorable William Bull Barlett Brown in the 68 year of his age. He was one of the remaining few who aided in the securing of American Independence." The Brown family cemetery, as shown on the USGS 7.5 map Bull Pond is located in Allendale County, SC, 1.3 miles north of State Road 3 on road 107. It is located on the left side of the road, about 100 yards through a planted pine forest in a very wooded area. L. E. Jarrell inventoried this site on 13 May 2002.
