Note: Loren/Loring G.Clark,SR. was born in the state of New York. As a young man he c ame to Sabine,Louisiana sometimes before 1850. I'm not sure
if he came by himse lf are if family came with him, I was told a
brother came to Texas with him but could never find a record of a
brother. The Louisiana U.S.Census states he was married to a
Tabitha/Tibitha Bevins born,about1823-in Louisiana.Loring and Tab itha
were married December 29,1842 in Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana.
Their ol dest child, Levi Clark was born in Louisiana about 1844.
A daughter Missouri w as born in Louisiana, about 1846.
A third child, a daughter, E.A.was also born in Louisiana about 1851.
In the 1850 census records of Louisiana states, Lo ring's father was
born in the state of Vermont and his mother was born in the state of
New York.

In 186 0 Loring G.Clark,SR and family were living in Woodville,Tyler
County, Texas.Two more sons were born in Tyler County, Texas, Edward
and Hamilton Clark.
In 187 0 Loring and family settled in Grapeland, Houston County,
Texas. Two more sons were born to this marriage, Loring G.JR and
William Clark.It seems as though Ta bitha passed away sometimes before
1880 because in the 1880 census records Lori ng,SR.was married to
someone
named Sarah,age-49,born in Alabama.

I just recently located the graves of
Loren G.C lark,Sr.and wife Tibitha.
They have a double headstone at Davis Cemetery,
Gra peland, Texas.(No dates only names)
Inscription Reads:
Loren Grant Clark,Sr .
Tibitha Clark Wife of
L.G.Clark,Sr.
