Notes
a. Note:   In the month of January, the year of 1901, Jesse C. Robertson facing blindness and and having lost his third wife (Mary Colvin) signed adoption papers giving Katie Lillian Robertson (age 7) and Mattie Sue Robertson (age 6) up for adoption. We (the grandchildren) do not recall Ma every mentioning her dad Jessie had re-entered their lives. However Velma Wood's said that he was being cared for in his final years by Aunt Sue in her home in Idalou. Ma and Aunt Sue's adopted parents were very mean to them and Ma would tell us about only getting to eat after the Lewis family and sometimes there were nothing left and she would go to bed hungry. Perhaps these unplesant memories made it difficult to have thoughts of her father in a kind manner with which she wanted to share
information about him with her grandchildren.
