Note: Old newspaper clipping found in the desk of Carolyn Mayo Eubanks: Mr. H. S. Eubanks, seal clerk, recently went fishing down the Savannah River, and had the luck to catch a fish eight feet in length, and weighing eighteen pounds. It wqs necessary for him to come to the city and get a wagon to go back with him and bring the fish in. It was one of the largest fish ever seen around Augusta that was taken from the Savannah.[No date or name of paper was included] ************************************** AUGUSTA CHRONICLE 4 Feb 1980 Henry S. Eubanks Henry S. Ebanks, 78, 2001 Hampton Ave., died Monday in a Richmond County hospital. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. today at Westover Memorial Park with the Rev. Dean Kring and the Rey. John W.P. Oliver officiating. Mr. Eubanks was a native of White Pond, S.C., but lived in Augusta 74 years. He was a member of ST James United Methodist Church, Barton Bible Class, Methodist Mens Club, Sunshine Club, Brotherhood of Railway Clerks, and was retired yardmaster of Seaboard Coastline Railroad. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn M. Eubanks; one daughter, Mrs Julius Johnson, Augusta; and one brother, Wiley S. Eubanks, Augusta. Pallbearers will be Julius Johnson. Jr., Henry Johnson, George Johnson, Barry Wheeler; M.H., Stewart III and James Stewart.
