a. Note:   About 1881 James bought a farm on Sexton's Creek, now known as Pennington Road. He built a 1 1/2 story home. James and his wife Liza move to Arkansas for a time to be close to Harmon (Liza's father) James is said to have caught the fever and they returned home to Kentucky. source: Copy of diary given to Walter Sizemore, Oklahoma by granddaughter of Liza.
  The home that James and his father-in-law, Harmon Sizemore, built has been relocated to Brush Arbor, Renfro Valley, Rockcastle County, Kentucky. It was originally built on Pennington Branch, which is now Maulden Road Branch. Eliza had a trap door built in the floor of the house so she could store apples under the floor. The trap door is still in the relocated house. When the house was move to Renfro Valley, about half of it was lost. It had originally been a dogtrot house. The rebuilt house has only one side of the dogtrot. source: Walter Sizemore, Oklahoma
  James and Eliza gave the land for the first Mt. Olivet church, and were two of its original members. This church was located on what is called Maulden Road in May 2000. James is buried in the Mt Olivet Cemetery, Clay County, Kentucky.
